Discover the story behind our Collectible Fan Clutch
The Flamenco-inspired Fan holds a special place in the history of Lulu Guinness, making a glamorous appearance several times over the decades - so beloved is this bold symbol of femininity.
It first appeared as a Collectibles style back in 1998 before being given a star-studded revival with a limited edition capsule collection launched in 2010 in collaboration with singer Paloma Faith, artist Rob Ryan and model Sophie Dahl.

The occasion called for its own glitzy party at Mayfair’s Air Gallery with the likes of Erin O Conner and Helena Bonham Carter joining the party. A firm favourite on the red carpet, Helena carried the ‘Paloma’ Fan for the premier of Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows, with Christina Hendricks choosing the ‘Sophie’ style for a special BAFTA Madmen event. So it really was the bag du jour.

Not forgetting the mini fan purse from 2004 that contained the Lulu perfume ‘Put On Your Pearls, Girls!’ This being a famous phrase of Lulu’s that speaks to her celebration of women, dressing up and unashamed glamour.

Fast forward to now, and this iconic piece has been re-imagined in Black and Ivory satin. The latter being a dreamy bridal style to treasure long past the big day. With mixed media embroidery, the decorative embellishment features sustainably grown freshwater pearls for a truly ornate finish. It can be carried as a clutch, which is super chic for evening events, or with the signature lip link crossbody chain for moments when you have to dash.
