We’re celebrating the Queen in honour of her historic 70-year Platinum Jubilee with a mini capsule collection
On the 6th of February this year Her Majesty The Queen became the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, marking 70 years of service to the people of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth. Here at Lulu, we wanted to mark this momentous achievement and occasion.
“The Queen has been part of all our lives in the UK – for as long as most of us have been alive”, says Lulu, who was appointed an OBE for services to the Fashion Industry in the 2006 Queen's Birthday Honours.
“It’s amazing what’s she’s devoted to this country and I have so many fond memories of celebrating previous Jubilee milestones with the processions and street parties. I’ve always secretly loved all the memorabilia and souvenirs that come with it, too.”
“As a British brand that loves and celebrates British culture and its traditions, we just had to do something to mark the occasion,” says Lulu. The artwork for the collection centers around the Queen in her state car (a rather swish Bentley) with her chauffeur driving her. Lulu had spotted The Queen in this car before and her beautiful silver hair caught her eye, so the artwork was created around the idea that when you see the silver hair in this car, you know it’s the Queen. “Queen Elizabeth loves a handbag too!”, adds Lulu. “We even named one in her honor!”
So the specially designed Jubilee Capsule Collection is our ode to this special national event. It features a vintage-inspired Frame Purse crafted from wool and embroidered with the LG initials and a crown motif. Don’t miss the ‘God Save The Queen’ messaging inside. The purse comes in a gift box so it makes the perfect present, too.
Or why not invest in a new crossbody for the occasion? Our Charcoal wool Monty style with chain strap features the Queen’s stately car, complete with chauffeur. And that special hidden message inside, too, of course.
Finally, there’s our bag charm of the famous car – so you too can travel in royal style wherever you go!
Congratulations to Her Majesty!
